Nicosia Chess Club, The Locomotive of Chess Founded in 1985 by a group of visionaries, the Nicosia Chess Club has evolved into a powerhouse, training over 1,500 players. From a humble rented room to international arenas across Austria, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Crete, Romania, Prague, and Serbia, our players proudly represent TRNC chess on the European stage. With GM and IM instructors, we provide world-class training where strategy, discipline, and passion meet. Grounded in integrity and brotherhood, we honor the legacy of our late founders Reha Caner and Yusuf Değirmencioğlu. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to strengthening chess culture, supporting young talents, and building bridges between Cyprus and the international chess community. Our journey continues toward Europe—and our goal remains excellence.
